Moshe Lion Moshe Lion was born in Tel Aviv, one of three sons to Hannah, z”l, and Shalom, Olim from Yemen and Greece. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics and Accounting, as well as a law degree, from Bar-Ilan University. Following his studies, Lion established the Yitzhaki & Co. accounting firm together with Avigdor Yitzhaki and two additional partners. He then founded and served as managing partner of the Lion Orlitzky & Co. accounting firm. Under his management, the firm was recognized as one of the ten largest firms in the country, as ranked by Dun & Bradstreet.

Lion has served in a variety of positions, including as director general of the Prime Minister’s Office, chairman of the Israel Railways, head of the Jerusalem Development Authority, and chairman of the board of Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak.

In 2018, Lion was elected as Mayor of Jerusalem. As mayor, he works tirelessly to promote and develop immigration to the capital, which includes special services and ensuring benefits for new Olim.

Most recently, Lion inaugurated a new multi-purpose service center for Olim.

Lion is married to Stavit and has four children.
